EXPERIENCE Vs REALITY Part 3 (Cont....)

Christy's Mathematics teacher Miss Shantel whose mother was a Ghanaian gave a helping hand to anyone who had difficulty in learning fast. She offered free after school tutorials to students who didn't do well in her subject and other subjects that had to do with calculations. She made it really simple for them though some lazy and unserious students didn't leverage on this free plate of pie which could have cost their parents so much if they billed for it.

It was the school's visiting/Open day and parents and guardians were allowed to check on the performance of their children/wards. This was always an exciting time for students as they get to see their loved ones and receive gifts from them too. They also could talk about their school experiences, the challenges they face, new found interests, introduce new friends and get further counsel from their pare.

It was a very busy day as cars of different kinds flocked into the school premises, with each child on the look out for their parents from the gate in anxiety and anticipation. Some went back disappointed while other weren't. Screams and yelling of joy and excitement filled the air. Some accompanied with tears as they had been away from their families . Some missed their loved ones dearly while some didn't and even wished they don't come for the visit.

Bella's Mom & some members of her family arrived quite on time. She was so happy to see them. Her mom apologized for her dad's inability to make it as he wasn't in the country but she called him on the phone so they could talk .She loved her dad so much and they were best of friends . meanwhile, Christy's parents were yet to arrive so Bella used the opportunity to introduce her new friend Christy to her family. They were so happy and delighted to meet her. They shared some gifts with which she rejected but they wished they could stay longer to meet her parents too. Christy wasn't cool with the idea because she knew her parents would frown at her new found friendships. She had proposed in her heart to keep every friendship secret till she finds away to expose it. She had learnt a lot from her new friends so she wasn't ready to let it slip by. Bella had so much to talk about her new school and her mom in turn had a lot to talk about as it regards what had been going on at home and news that would interest her. They munched on some cakes and fruits while chatting and laughing.

She was so much fun for Bella.

Christy sat far from them though interested in what they were saying, she her mind was occupied by the delay in her parents arrival. While Bella's family were ready to leave, Christy's parents arrived.

She jumped up in excitement and ran toward the car. Her mother was excited that she ran out of the car, grabbed her daughter and spinner her round and round amidst tears. Her father had a big laugh at this as he teased them. He was a very fine and gentle man who knew how to use words to cause excitement Christy was too elated to notice the new car, her sweet aunty and her old grandma who were behind the car.

Her father and mother giggled, looked at each other for it was a big surprise for their daughter. They both held her hand and walked towards the car and just then did Christy noticed the new car. She hugged her Dad and screamed saying "oh! I love the car, I love the car! ". She still didn't notice her aunt and grandma. While she was still talking about the car and checking it out, she suddenly took a closer look at those seated at the behind the car. She screamed" Oh my God!!!! It's grandma and Aunty M.J!!! They all laughed while she ran into the car to kiss them all over and lie on them. They came out of the car and exchanged pleasantries. Her mother had prepared her favourite which she hadn't eaten for a while along side snacks and fruits. She was so happy talking about her new experiences in school but she was careful not to mention her new friends. But she talked about her Maths teacher who she loved so much and they all went to meet with her and thank her. They were also impressed at her performance but encouraged her to do better.

On their way back from her class, there came Bella with a smile towards them. Mr. Albert wondered why but Christy kept calm with her heart beat increasing in fear of what Bella would likely say or do. Knowing that she was a very bold and expressive girl. Surprisingly, Bella smiled, greeted and walked past. Though he was impressed at Bella's manners, he wondered while the smile like they were familiar with each other .Of course, Bella knew they were her parents but she was sensitive and intelligent enough to discern that it wouldn't be a good idea to introduce herself just like that. This was a big relieve to Christy and she had Bella to thank for it afterwards.

Her parents were happy to see that their daughter was catching up so fast in her studies not knowing that it was with the help of her good friends.

They prayed with her, encouraged her the more and they didn't leave without their sermon of friends and all that. She listened anyway but she was getting a little bit enlightened about the usefulness of friendship when one is in  the right company.

She had a very quality time with her family and time was up for them to go.
