CONFIDENCE, AN AUTHORITY

The three syllable word'confidence 'is defined in different terms by several people around the globe. For the sake of this article and its aim, we will peg it to one encompassing definition. Confidence is the self assurance derived from a deep knowledge about something which supercedes what is perceived by others. It could also be the quality of trust/self esteem gotten from an in depth ability known to an individual alone. Now, from our definition, it can be deduced that confidence is more than mere feeling. It is something that comes from within and its more of what is on the inside than what comes from the outside. Infact, it has little to do with what is on the outside(physical) or an outlook, its known by the individual alone. Confidence could be mistaken by our today's Lady to be how well one looks or appearance in cloths, jewelries, etc or how rich one is.Research has proven that most people strive hard to earn enough to boast thier self confidence or self esteem by physical adornment. Over time, it has been observed thatmost people who yearn for riches impossibly, actuatelly do so to cover up thier self esteem and most of such category of people are from very poor backgrounds. Riches, luxurious life, physical adornment, jewelries etc are very good to have. In fact, everyone should strive to live life to the full cause God commands us to prosper and also to enjoy life but when one's confidence is hinged to all that alone, then such an individual is doomed and lack the full knowledge of what life is truly about. It is often said that all eggs should not be put in one basket. Permit me to say that your confidence also should not be put in one basket of the aforementioned . It should cut across every and anything called relevance to the world at large. Of what relevance is one's riches or beauty or dress style if such lack simple ability to apply his/her heart to wisdom and in life pursuit. No wonder the bible enjoins us to get wisdom and in all our getting, get understanding. Notice that the bible didnt say get riches, or cloths or wear make-up a priority, it talks about wisdom and understanding. Those two cover alot about confidence and life. On the other hand, investment and more investments should be put into improving yourself, spiritually, intellectually, mentally, educationally,in skill and any other abilities. People who simply pursue all these look more appealing on nice cloths, riches etc. A wise man oncw said don't appear good on an empty brain, appear good on a loaded brain cause it balances the equation. And yes, i throw my weight behind that wise saying. Confidence in what you know makes you an authority never to be relegated. You won't need any disguise to feel or look confident. Its really sad to know how some folks place premium on appearance just to increase thier confidence but its all a disguise. Everyone especially Ladies should place premium on what she can bring to the table, something the world appreciates, something relevant to our today's world. We all know that everything is dynamic in the sence that what was seen as on board years ago has an improvement. What then should be your attitude towards such? Continuous learning, updating, more education to keep being relevant and a teachable heart. Never neglect any opportunity to learn by any means cause that's a catalyst to true confidence. In the same vain, the antidote to low self esteem or lack of confidence is to keep investing in your self rather than on yourself. By this i mean, dont place importance on just appearance or what you have but on the stuff you are made up when pressed. How innovative and creative are you? What's your worth in the international market? What can you offer the world that will make you relevant and never relegated by anyone?What sphere of life are you regarded as an authority? Why should people respect you without being forced or coarsed to? Decide today to invest in your self rather on yourself. Confidence will certainly look good on you that way .
