Tips to keep your joy intact during this 2nd Episode of lockdown

This lockdown is a reality we all have to face. So what should be our attitude towards it? Enjoy it and make the most of it while it lasts. In my last post, I shared my personal experience of how my lock down is going, see https://dxpertstracts.blogspot.com/2020/04/my-first-few-days-of-covid-19-lockdown.html.

Today, I'm going to share some tips of what families and single can do to enjoy this 2nd episode while we hope that it will end soon.

Tips for singles

1) If you are a working class man or lady, stay focused and keep smashing your goals. Don't relent because, the world has not ended yet. You can earn a promotion right there at home, yes you can! πŸ†πŸ₯‡The time is still ticking so keep moving. if you ain't working yet, this is a good time to search and drop your CV. For business owners, improve by research, develop more skill and make your brands more visible.

2) Take that course! That's what everybody says right? But its good you do that but make sure its not just because Alagbaja is doing it so I don't want to be left out. Be deliberate about it, have a goal in mind.

3) Social media!!!!πŸ“±πŸ“²πŸ’»πŸ–₯️as much as its a blessing to our world, could be so distracting that you could miss your schedule for the day. You can decide to stay off it for a while and focus on more gainful activities during this lockdown. Haven said that, the social media nation is fun!!!πŸ’ƒπŸ˜…πŸ₯πŸ“±you've got to check this for more exciting tips https://www.chorus.co.nz/blog/keeping-household-happy-during-lockdown

4) If you live alone, that's so sadπŸ˜ŸπŸ˜” and my heart goes out for you. May you find your helpmeet soonest, Amen! But do you know you can have fun while alone? There are 1001 fun games you can download and play. As you get bored with one, simply uninstall and install anotherπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ shikena!  Explore tik tok, Snapchat etc. In all, just ensure you stay positive and happy!!πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ

5) If you happen to be like me that easily gets bored with food, find a new recipe and try it out. There are a lot of nice and tasty meals/ snacks you can try out. Have you ever tried groundnut soup, garden egg soup/sauce, banana bread, matched yam/potato balls, cabbage sauce, home made mayonnaise? The list is endless. I can help you if you ask?

6) Read books! This can't be over emphasized my dear. Book puts you ahead of others. Read books about knowing God,the Holy Spirit, relationship/marriage, career, business, having the right attitude, etc. I can recommend some great books of you ask me in the comment section.

7) The world is getting more and more digital, research about recent apps and technology around the world, explore and be up to date with it. Don't be an old school just as you accused your parentsπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Zoom, slack etc seems to be some very useful tech now a days. Do you know how to use it yet? You can download the apps and see how it works. You have to be careful about apps you download, some apps are malicious.

Lastly, do you still want that lovely dress,
suit, pant, shirt to fit you perfectly without you having to worry about shopping for new ones  after the lock down is over? Get up now and exercise!! Take long walks around your estate if you live in one or do simple, sit ups, skips, frog jumps, squats. etc. It doesn't have to be a rigorous exercise really just be consistent and stay in shape .🏊🏽‍♀️🀼‍♀️πŸ“ Eat right, tame your appetite and cravings. Discipline is key at this time!

Tip for families

1) Spell out your family goals again  and engage every member of the family.

2) Help your family spend time with God. God is all we need to survive this time. Teach your family to be grateful for life and pray often with them. Write out confessions and declaration on stickers and paste on places it can easily be seen. Let them confess God's word with you

3) If you work from home like my husband and I, ensure you create time for your family. Explore technology in handling your task if you have to. Zoom, slack and other Apps have made it so easy to connect with colleagues and to have business meetings too. Also teach your children about your new found technology. Let everyone grow together in the family. πŸ“±πŸ“±

4) Get online books to read. It could be about understanding the dynamics of a family, your profession, how to improve on relationship at work, getting new skills etc

5) Be creative even at home. Your children could be bored you know! so research about indoor games 🏈πŸ₯…πŸ€Ό‍♀️🀾🏼‍♂️that can engage them and keep them happy. Staying at home isn't easy for children at all. Also spend time with your children and try to understand their various behaviours. This is a good opportunity🀼‍♀️🀾🏼‍♂️

6) For mothers, learn about new recipes online, try out new meals that are healthy for your family and make it fun by involving your husband and children too. Nice meals like banga rice, butter rice, banana bread, apple pie, home made carrot cake, pan cake, custard pudding etc are great for you to explore. I can help you if you ask me in the comment sectionπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

7) Expand your children's imagination, let them watch cartoons that will help them academically and morally too. Make academics fun for them and remember that they will go back to school.

8) Make your children write short stories(this may apply for children from ages 6 and above). For children within the ages of 2-3, you could make them scribble and paint fun pictures you draw for them. I have a 2year old plus and we do that together.
She has even started writing number 1 on her own, yayyy!πŸ’ƒπŸΌπŸ’ƒπŸΌ
Note: I'm not really interested in over pushing or fast forwarding children. I believe in allowing them enjoy every moment of their growth stage. Allow a baby act like a baby!

9) Take your family out for a stroll and top it up with an indoor or outdoor exercise. There is every tendency for some of us to add so much weight this period so shed it now! Do some indoor exercises to keep fit. Everyone can be involved.

10) Stay connect to your families and friends through video calls, SMS, etc. Don't become a stranger all of a sudden after this is over so stay in touch.
